Casey Cole

Attorney / Former Judge

Meet Attorney Casey Cole

Tough Criminal Defender

Casey Cole has spent more than 25 years defending people the system has already decided to punish. He’s done it from both sides of the bench — first as a judge, now as the attorney clients call when the stakes are highest. That combination gives him a read on how prosecutors build cases and how judges actually think, not just how the law reads on paper.

Experience & Accomplishments

Casey earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1984. From there, he pursued his Juris Doctorate from Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles, California, earning his law degree in 1988. In June 1989, he passed the California Bar — widely regarded as one of the toughest state bar exams in the country. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in May 1992 and has since practiced in federal court in both California and Texas.

Casey is a member of the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Bar Association and has spent three years as a defense attorney for the Tarrant County Drug Court Program. He has also served as a defense attorney and consultant for the Deferred Prosecution Program (DPP) and First Offender Drug Program (FODP) — diversion court programs built to correct behavior, teach accountability, and prevent future offenses rather than simply hand down punishment. He’s also handled hundreds of DWI cases in the DFW area and is one of the more experienced DWI attorneys in the region.

His caseload has ranged from misdemeanor theft and marijuana charges to felony drug offenses, sexual assault, and murder. That range matters — a lawyer who’s only handled minor cases doesn’t know how a major case actually unfolds under pressure, and Casey has sat with both.

As Founding Partner of Cole Paschall Law, Casey also personally reviews and approves the legal content published on this site — an editorial standard the firm holds itself to so that what you read here reflects real courtroom experience, not just search-friendly writing.
